The title of the project, The Bad and the Beautiful, is more than just a sonorous ballad for us. As trombonists striving to be at the center of attention, we are often initially miscast as musical misfits – bulls in a china shop as it were. And while trombones can indeed put more than just a little zip into any forte, it doesn’t always have to be the mission objective. The Bad and the Beautiful tries to reflect this dual personality of crude crescendo crusader and melodious Meistersinger.
